In this installment we are finishing up the build on the truck. Keith who works in our Returns department is installing the electric window kit, which will use the original window cranks as switches. Edgar took a bite out of the back of the rear fenders for the exhaust to poke through. While out back they installed the hidden tailgate latches. The last of the sheet metal work still needs to be completed, which includes a custom center console and roll pan. Also from the Returns Dept. (must be slow these days) is striping the EDP coating off the fresh sheet metal. Some people may lightly sand the EDP and prep it for paint, but we suggest taking it down to the bare metal. Notice how easily the EDP peels up with a light coat of aircraft quality paint stripper. Make sure the paint on your ride lasts a good long time, by following the practice of many professional builders and strip that coating off. It can be a mess, so we laid down a piece of plastic to catch all the goo and drippings.
Next the truck will be taken apart to prep for the House of Kolor paint and graphics.
